History: Neil spent most of his life living under his father's shadow, trying in vain to live up to his expectations and without much attention from his aloof mother. Every move he made was dictated by his father, including what he did for extracurricular activities and where he went to school. When Neil was four he tried to bring home a salamander he and his friends had found in the stream. He named it Jim, but his father wouldn't have any of that and promptly told him to "dispose of it." Neil tried to hide the lizard but his father noticed its presence and got rid of the "filth" himself. His mother just stood back and watched as if nothing was wrong. Neil never quite got over the fury he felt towards this small seemingly inconsequential action and even now cannot clearly remember the incident or why he feels so resentful towards his family. The past four years spent at Welton had been both horrible and brilliant at the same time. Even though his father still monitored his every movement he had more freedom there then he did at home.

Personality: Neil is naturally an easygoing guy, who can make friends anywhere he goes. He is both passionate and energetic. His one flaw is that he tries so hard and never quite achieves what it was he was searching for. The main problem is that he never knows what it was he was searching for or looking to do in the first place. He, inwardly, has very little idea of who he truly is and it causes for various emotional breakdowns that are rarely seen behind his happy veneer.

How Others Perceive Your Character: A generally kind cheerful guy with
a lust for life and new adventures

Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: He comes to strongly believe in the phrase "carpe diem" and internalizes it but he can't escape his father's control to do so. He also believes that no one should be controlled, especially since he can't escape himself.

Reason for Escaping to Canada: To escape his role in life and his
family's expectations.

in any way even if it means throwing himself into the spotlight and
only getting the artificial warmth that comes from adoring fans.
